This document explains the different status values available in the Payment Transaction Status within the Payment Connect application. It helps Salesforce users and administrators understand what each status represents during the lifecycle of a payment.
Payment Statuses – Descriptions & Meanings

🟡 Open |
No action has been taken yet. |
Used when a payment link is generated but not yet acted upon by the customer. It is the initial or idle state. |

⏰ Expired |
The payment link or request has passed its due date and is no longer valid. |
Typically happens when the customer hasn’t completed the payment within the allowed time window. |
|
🛡️ Authorized |
The card or bank payment has been authorized, but funds are not yet captured. |
Common in pre-scheduled payments or delayed captures. Indicates successful validation of payment method. |
|
🚫 Voided |
The payment authorization has been cancelled before capture. |
Can be triggered manually or automatically when a transaction is canceled. No money is moved. |

✅ Accepted / Captured |
Payment has been successfully captured or accepted. - Card: Captured directly. - Bank: Bank details accepted. |
Marks successful payment processing at the gateway level. |
|
🏦 Settled |
Funds have been transferred to your account and settled by the bank. |
Final stage of the payment lifecycle. No further action is required. |
|
💸 Refunded |
Funds from a previous successful payment have been returned to the customer. |
Happens in the case of returns, cancellations, or customer service adjustments. |

❌ Failed |
The payment attempt was unsuccessful. |
Could result from card declines, Invalid account number or routing number, or any other technical issues with the gateway. |
|
🔁 Returned |
The payment was returned by the bank (e.g., for bank debits or ACH). |
Includes return codes and descriptions (e.g., "R01 - Insufficient Funds"). Often applicable to Pay by Bank or direct debit transactions. |
