Pre / Post Sandbox Refresh Considerations and Steps

This page provides a clear and actionable checklist of the steps required after a Salesforce Sandbox refresh.
A sandbox refresh resets the environment to match production, but may affect configurations, credentials, and user access.

Following this checklist ensures:

  • System functionality remains intact

  • Licenses and settings are properly updated

  • Integrations (e.g., Plaid) operate correctly

  • Disruptions are minimized

This supports a smooth transition back to normal sandbox operations.

  • Email Templates and Metadata are copied from Production to Sandbox during refresh.

1. Enable & Configure Salesforce Site

  • Confirm that a Public Site is enabled.

  • Verify that the Site Guest User has the required permissions.

2. Plaid Configuration & Credentials

Sandbox Credential Validation

After refresh, the Sandbox environment will default to using the Sandbox Plaid credential entry.

✅ Please verify:

Webhook Domain Settings

Confirm that the domain configured for:

  • Plaid Webhook

  • Asset Webhook

…matches the Sandbox Site domain.

3. Identity Verification (If Applicable)

If your org uses Identity Verification (IDV), ensure that:

  • The Identity Template ID has been updated to the Sandbox template.

4. Summary

After completing a Sandbox refresh, ensure that:
✔ Public Site is active and correctly permissioned
✔ Sandbox Plaid credentials (Client ID + Secret) are validated
✔ Webhooks reference the correct Sandbox Site domain
✔ Identity Verification Template ID is updated (if applicable)

These steps ensure smooth post-refresh operation and prevent integration failures.
