TR CLEAR Person & Business Search

Overview

The TR CLEAR Person Search and Business Search modules enable users to perform comprehensive investigative searches against Thomson Reuters CLEAR's extensive public records database. These searches help verify identities, locate individuals or businesses, and gather publicly available information to support due diligence, fraud prevention, compliance, and underwriting processes.

What are Person Search and Business Search?

Person Search allows users to search for an individual using identifying information such as name, address, phone number, date of birth, or Social Security Number (where permitted).

Business Search enables users to search for organizations using business identifiers such as the business name, Tax ID (EIN), address, or phone number.

Unlike ID Confirm, which verifies submitted information against trusted data sources and returns a confidence score, Person Search and Business Search return comprehensive public records and associated information that can be used for further investigation.

These searches help organizations:

  • Locate individuals or businesses.

  • Verify publicly available information.

  • Perform due diligence and investigations.

  • Support Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) processes.

  • Gather additional information before making business decisions.

  • Compare identifying information such as names, addresses, and phone numbers.

  • Select the appropriate record before running additional reports, such as Risk Inform or Business/Person Reports, if applicable.

The number of returned records depends on the search criteria and the data available within Thomson Reuters CLEAR.

Where to Find It in Salesforce

Person Search and Business Search are available through the TR CLEAR Search component configured on supported Salesforce objects.

After a search is completed, Salesforce stores:

  • TR CLEAR Search Result records containing the search information.
